Life Has Curves

Yesterday we learned Bob's recently retired cardiologist has died. In fact he died the day we saw the new cardiologist. We did not learn the cause of death, just that it was unexpected. That's quite a curve.

Monday Bob had three medical appointments and we shopped Costco. That's too much in one day. We only had one appointment on our calendar but every office sent us to another lab or clinic. He gave blood all over town. Costco was very close so we did that as well.

Daughter was here for a few days and we were very busy on some projects. She was a big help. Son called to see if we'd like to go to dinner and to the theater to see the local theater group's production of the novel "The Graduate."

We tucked Bob in for the night and headed out for the evening. It was absolutely wonderful. Actually it probably wasn't all that wonderful, but it had been so long since I'd done anything like that it seemed wonderful.

I sometimes use the 'Blogger' app on my phone or iPad to write this blog. This morning that app is no longer working on either device. I've just updated both devices and apparently the app does not work with the latest update. Bummer. Another one of life's curves I suppose.

I suspect there will be quite a drop in the number of viewers for tonight's Vice Presidential debate. I can live without viewing it. I've never been sure why Pense would want to be Trump's running mate. I know he is unpopular as governor of Indiana but politically how does he expect being Trump's running mate to help him? Another one of life's curve's I suppose.

  1. Trump's son Eric said that Pence will be the most powerful VP in history because Donald plans on having the VP to do the daily jobs of the president while he himself acts more like the "chairman of the board." I think that is Pence's reason for wanting the job because he'll have a big influence on our next supreme court judges, for one thing and other extremely conservative causes.

Glad you got to get out to see a play. That's always fun to do something like that you didn't plan on doing.

    1. Oh my, the places ego & a hunger for power can take us. I personally see Pense's job as walking behind Trump with a scoop and a wheelbarrow. Can't imagine anyone wanting 'Trump VP candidate' on their record of public service.

  2. What a shock about the cardiologist. No one expects to die a few days after they retire.

So glad you were able to enjoy and evening out. You deserve it! Sounds like you are handling life's curve balls just fine. But that is not to minimize how hard that can be.

I will probably surf the channels a bit tonight, but doubt I will watch the whole debate. I'm impressed with Tim Caine. He's the man for the job!

    1. Bob is quite upset about the death of his cardiologist. He'd been his doctor for a long time.

I agree with you, Tim Kaine is the man we need for this time in history.

  3. I guess the debate is on here at 9:00? Not sure, and not sure we'll watch.
I'm wondering if the cardiologist knew something was up since he seemed to retire without notice. Shocking though.

    1. The cardiologist was an extremely private man. We'll probably never know what happened but his death bothered Bob. He'd been his doctor for a lot of years.

I suppose it is wrong for me to hope this debate sends Trump off on another 3:00 a.m. Twitter frenzy but they're so entertaining. I should feel pity for him but I'm having trouble working up a lot of that.

  4. wow, that's crazy about the cardiologist! But I will admit I was glad to read it was him that the curve was about, and not you or Bob.

I'm not watching the debate. Nothing those 2 could say will change my mind, and my bp will appreciate my not watching. LOL

  7. Ahh, getting out for an evening, absolutely wonderful in and of itself. And I suspect something you really needed.
Curves and sharp corners...too bad life does not have the same warning signs as your average highway.

    1. I understand there are things in. Life we don't need to know in advance. I'd say your term 'sharp corner' is fitting.

  8. That is too bad about Bob's doctor. We do get attached and we lean on them so it is alarming when they are no longer there.
So glad you got an evening out. You ought to schedule more of those.
