I found this arrangement on the patio table! Works for me. I get to keep my wreath a while longer.
In one of my other lives I worked for a homiletics professor in a seminary, I know, but it's true. He used to tell his students never to go in the pulpit without reading the morning newspaper. Overnight major news events happen that can make a planned sermon obsolete, and out of touch.
So it is these days. Every morning I wake with great excitement. I can hardly wait to get to my chair and begin reading all my news sources. Never have I seen the country so energized in such a good way. I was beginning to think Americans sense of patriotism had died of apathy.
Evidently the thought of losing something precious can be very energizing. Here's a few tidbits I've come across in the last twenty-four hours.
I think conservatives fail to realize this Women's March was so much bigger than women's issues. It was a march for all marginalized people feeling the threat of losing their rights as Americans. Friday the pro-life people will march. VP Mike Pence and Kellyanne Conway are scheduled to speak.
It seems Dan Rather has come out of retirement to start a Facebook news page. It's called News and Guts. In my distant memory I believe there was a Dan Rather scandal but I'm not sure if it affects his credibility for today.
I'm thinking we're going to see more of these kinds of news sources pop up as the White House continues its rant against news media and fake news.
