By the time a house reaches our age it is often referred to as a fixer-upper. That seems an adequate description of our stage in life.
Pride goeth before the fall? I see that Wheaton College, that good evangelical Christian institution, has removed his name from their honorees. One wonders how many others were complicit in keeping his secrets in the closet for so long. And how did a high school teacher and coach become a multimillionaire when he became a politician? He seems to be a case study in corruption.
Guess I am happily stuck with my head in the sand. I don't want to know. Think most of them are crooked.
I lived in Illinois for 35 years. Sigh... He is certainly a horrible disgrace. Then again, Illinois has been rather plagued by a host of shameful politicians.
