Super Good

It's nice to be able to say life at our house is super good at the moment. Bob is doing better than anyone expected!

I give some of the credit to the amount of fluids he's drinking. The doctor talked to us about the importance of him drinking lots of fluids.

It's common among older people that they cut back on fluids when they begin having symptoms of incontinence. He told us that is the wrong thing to do.

I believe he is right. Bob's recent incident turned him into a firm believer in drinking lots of fluids. I'm no longer having to police what he drinks because he sees how much it's helped. Most amazing is he no longer has incontinence issues of any kind! Hard to believe but it is true.

It's also important to not get dehydrated because dehydration can cause mental confusion.

We are firm believers now in drinking lots of fluids.

A precursor of the modern day Republican Party was the Whig Party. That party fractured over slavery and died. Then came the American (Know-Nothing) Party. It fractured over Catholics and immigration and died. Today's Republican Party is now fractured over immigration, ideology, and religion. Will it die?

What do you expect the Republican Party to be in 2020?

  1. That is wonderful to hear. I am guilty of not drinking enough. It is good for the body so I'll use this as a little reminder to try to do even better.

    1. I can't begin to tell you how happy we are. We weren't getting a lot of encouragement which makes it super nice.

  3. That's good news with Bob. I'm a big water drinker, too.

If the Republican Party elects Trump it will forever be changed and not survive. If they don't elect him, it can rebuild into a better party than before. That's my opinion. We could have a two Republican Parties in 2020.

    1. I drink a lot but never had seen with my own eyes what plenty of fluids could do for the body.

I don't think the Republican party will go away this time. I do think there will be a blood bath for control of the party (money, assets, etc). I'm betting the far right faction of the party wins. They may not be able to win the White House but they can win as they are now, senators, representatives, governors and state offices. To win the White House at some point the establishment Republicans will have to join Independent/Republicans & figure out how to run a candidate appealing enough to the country as a whole to win the White House.

  4. Wonderful news about Bob. I am huge on water and try to get in my quota daily. Kind of like getting the prescribed number of steps in daily. Goodness, we sure have regimens as we age but fortunately they are usually easy to meet.
I think the Republicans are realizing that they needed to change and be more inclusive. That has to be a positive.

    1. Discipline is the key. More water, more steps, live longer.

Republicans know they're in trouble but unfortunately are worlds away from a solution.

I keep reminding myself to drink more. Tom just doesn't drink much at all except coffee. I bug him now and then.

  8. My father had the same problem with dehydration. He was a huge Yankees fan. The doctor told him to take a sip of water every time they got a hit or walk and at the end of every inning.

I'm not sure about the Republican party. If they're ever going to win a presidential race, they have to come around on key issues. Will they? Can they? It will be interesting to see. The extreme right is relentless. It's hard to imagine the party going away, though.

  9. Gracious! I was just reading about this in the paper this morning. They were saying how older people need to drink more water because of the medications we're taking and because we need it for digestion even more as we age.
