Stirring Things Up

Sometimes I get an urge to stir things up a little bit. Mostly I try to sit down and wait until that urge passes but sometimes it gets the best of me.

Being apartment dwellers and someone else doing the landscaping I don't pay a lot of attention to what goes on but lately some things have been bugging me. It's odd how we live with something day in and day out and never notice and then one day something jumps into your vision you need to deal with. We've been here two years with two large rhododendron bushes grown up over the living room windows. Over the week-end that suddenly bothered me.

I turned in a work order for someone in landscaping to come and remove those old bushes that have outgrown their prime and replace with two smaller bushes that won't grow so large. I saw a worker out there looking at them earlier. Wonder if that means they're actually considering my request.

Daughter asked if we were allowed to turn in work orders on landscaping. I have no idea but since I turned in a work order for a French drain and got it I thought I'd see what they'd do about this request. I'm tired of having my windows blocked by bushes. I figure, nothing ventured, nothing gained.

I like to get up early and dress first thing. For some reason I've lost all disciple about that. Bob does not come out in the mornings until he is dressed and has made up his bed.

I could do that as well but I don't, though there was a time when I did. I've decided it's because I'm so eager to get to some digital device I just throw on a robe and next thing you know I've been sitting in that robe for three hours reading stuff on digital devices. By then I'm sluggish, and have to push myself to get in the shower. It feels like I'm starting the day all over again when half of it is already passed.

I gave myself a talking to this morning and in the morning I'm going to also dress and make my bed before coming to the living room. I think my attitude will be better about the day before me.

Are you aware we have two Hillary Clintons running in this election? Yep we do. You see about 1994 Republicans came up with two very scary cartoon figures named Bill and Hillary and they began to write stories about them, scary, frightening stories. Their readers loved those scary stories so they wrote more and so it has gone until today. It's next to impossible to change the mind of anyone who bought into this fictional series about the Clintons. Don't bother trying.

Then there's the other Clintons, the real Clintons. They have done a lot of good for this country. The facts are there for anyone who believes in facts. They've also made mistakes and those are documented as well for those who like documentation for what they believe. The latest scandals have been Benghazi, which Republicans have spent two years and millions of dollars trying to prove wrong doing but came up empty handed. The other was the famous email server scandal. I don't have a clue what went on about that situation. It's been investigated and the FBI and Department of Justice have said there's no grounds for criminal charges. Republicans don't trust the FBI and the Department of Justice.

You have to choose between the fictional and the real Hillary. It's impossible to merge the two accounts. I'm not a happy Hillary supporter. In fact I'm pretty disgusted she's the Democratic candidate. I've muttered a lot about it. Then I listened and watched 75 minutes of Donald Trump, red faced and screaming things I believe only a mad man, a man who's unhinged, would say. Things that cannot be proved true but many things that can be proved false.

That sent me scurrying into the lap of Hillary. She's not my first choice but she's no where near as dangerous as Donald Trump.  That said, I have this to say to the Democratic Party. "Don't do this again. Get your act together, groom some young Democrats, and have us some new faces to choose from in 2020. You nearly sent the country down the river this time. Don't do it again."
(Thanks to Bill Clinton for the cartoon character idea)

  1. My husband always got dressed before leaving the bedroom too. He was a farm boy and had chores before school. That is not a habit I've ever had and I dread the time when someone in a nursing home makes me do it. LOL

I haven't seen the fictional Clinton's but I've been off line all day.

    1. I'm a morning person. I should not waste the mornings in a robe. I must do better.

    2. I can can do a lot of things in a robe and it saves getting your clothes dirty. LOL

  2. I have been walking most mornings so I get dressed for that, check electronic media, walk and the work in the yard before showering. That means some days I don't shower until noon. Kinda' weird, but I also don't like walking when it's hot.

I have long been baffled at how many choose to believe the caricature of HRC produced by her detractors rather than the real Hillary. You are right that many cannot be convinced by facts. I'm just hoping we can convert enough to win this election.

    1. Last week was so awful it made me so ashamed. This week has restored my faith that America is not all bad people that need to be beaten into submission.

  3. I agree with you on the lesser of the evils voting method. I am resentful that I have no other choice. I'd like to rewind the calendar several years and see if their isn't somebody(ies) out there that would be better choices.

    1. My vote this time has never been a vote for Hillary Clinton but rather a vote against Donald Trump. That's just the way it has to be I suppose. Four years from now if Hillary is still hanging on I hope somebody will have the courage to tell her it's time to release the stage.

  4. You've really got three posts in one here. Yes, there's a lot of fiction (lies) in this election. Some day somebody has to pull the switch on all the lies and make people pay .

    1. Once something has been investigated by the FBI and Department of Justice, and found the lack of evidence to press criminal charges I try to let it go. If I didn't I'd be chasing my tail like so many others imagining all sorts of things. You have to consider somebody's word to be the ultimate word. If we didn't I think we'd resolve into an all out civil war.

  5. Since i finally stopped working I go with the flow of my day when I awake -- not always getting up,early -- occasionally staying in P.J.'s much longer than usual. i like having this variation since some days I do have to be up and ready to go, but how nice some days to not have to do so.

That cane chair looks like a good idea. Hope it works well -- let us know.

I think it's good to "stir the pot" so will be interested in how your bush fairs.

    1. Bob likes his medical appointments to be the first of the day. I like early but that's too early. He has nothing to do all day but he likes to start early so he can get back to the work of doing nothing. Fortunately we're both early risers around here.

  6. I am a morning slug and I do have the bad habit of loafing around in pajamas too much of the morning. Maybe I can change that, but I am not gonna put money on it. Wish I could change it though.

    1. I've never been one to lounge in my night clothes. Apparently it's a ha it that's easily acquired. I need to stop it now before it becomes even worse.

  7. I don't wear pajamas and don't own a robe so I have no choice but to get dressed immediately or risk mooning my neighbor.
I think what scares me the most is even when the lies are shown the spotlight, people still believe them. I liked Hillary 8 years ago and settled for Obama so this year is a no brainer for me.

    1. Yes, I believe you have no choice but to dress fiirst thing. Today was the first day of my new resolve to do that. It makes the day go much better for me. On the other, you just can't make people believe what they don't want to believe.

  8. I'm an early riser, but terrible about getting dressed until a couple of hours have passed.

I'm a Hillary voter. I'm still trying to get over how many people are willing to vote for Trump. It's scary.
