It was such fun this morning when our resident squirrel found the peanut feeder. No doubt this one is a male because he's knocked over two of my flower pots and scrambles across another to get to the feeder with no regard for the plant. A female would be more considerate. I have named him 'Nibbles,' and told him not to spread the word. I'm not feeding the whole neighborhood.
I can report this peanut feeder really works.
This morning I mustered up my courage and deleted everything related to politics off Twitter and Facebook. I was spending far too much time of that stuff. The tedious part is unsubscribing from the political emails.
Most of the time they come back ever if you unsubscribe yourself. Some of the ones asking for donations do not list a way to unsubscribe. Some of those are getting a little pushy and that annoys me.
I may be confused but it seems to me there was a time in the 60s when Democrats went so far to the left they hit a brick wall. As I remember it was a very turbulent time and also very violent. The country eventually did begin moving to the right, away from the extreme. I believe Democrats did not get their act together again, as a party, until Bill Clinton came along in 92.
It seems to me that may be what's happening to Republicans. They've gone so far to the right they've hit a brick wall. They haven't figured that out yet so they're still making run after run only to go splat against that wall. I have to think eventually they will have to begin moving away from the extreme.
There is this thing called center. I'd like to see both parties get somewhere in the vicinity of center. Close enough to still hurl insults but come together eventually and vote for the good of the country. What we have now just isn't working.
