Dust

I am sure dust was one of God's mistakes.  I know, I know, God doesn't make mistakes, don't believe it.  God made chiggers, and there is a serious design flaw in human knees.

There are few jobs I feel are beneath my station in life but dusting is one.  I view it as a job any trained money can do, therefore I often assign the job to Bob.  I have even paid my grandson, when he was younger, to do it.  He is older now and is not interested in the job, even for money.

Before I had cataract surgery dust was not a problem.  Now it is everywhere.  I look at the ceilings but see nothing falling.  Where do these little minuscule particles originate?

Living through sandstorms in Texas it was impossible to keep out sand.  The next morning everything would be covered, no matter how hard you tried.  But I live in Oregon now, you know, where it rains a lot.

Besides the two dusters in the picture I also have a long handled one we use to clean the ceiling fans, and around the ceilings.  Got to keep those dust bunnies away.

Dust is the gift that keeps on giving.  I hate it.

  1. Dust is never ending, someone ought to make drawing smiley faces on your furniture fashionable.

  2. I hate dusting more than any other household chore! Hate it!! I keep telling Poppy that it is his turn to dust, after all, most of what needs dusting is his...deer heads and antlers, bottle and jar collection, turkey feathers...things that really collect dust. His answer, I don't see any dust.

  3. Ooh, maybe my getting new glasses might not be a good idea. At least now I can pass for a decent housekeeper. No telling what evil lies unseen.

  4. My issue is with cob webs which of course are dust laden spider webs. One thing for sure, you don't need glasses to see them.

  5. I'd much rather dust than vacuum. I dust. Tom vacuums.

  6. I'm so glad you're back blogging, Linda. I hate dusting too, but I tend to ignore it until Art gets annoyed with it and does the dusting himself. Actually whoever gets annoyed first does it.
