Life With Bob

In spite of my obsession with the Trump White House, life goes on with Bob. His pulmonologist  retired the end of the year. For years I've thought it was a waste of time to see this character. I would ask Bob if he was using his inhalers and he'd say "sometimes." I never, even one time, saw him use one.

Recently in one of my wheezing episodes I asked him to get me one of his inhalers. The expiration date on it was 2012. As I thought, he was stashing them. He just enjoyed the social connection of visiting with the doctor and his office staff.

There will not be a new pulmonary person on Bob's care team. Today I'm calling our pharmacy to cancel any future inhaler deliveries.

He saw the cardiologist last week and got a good report. His next visit is scheduled for six months. He may get lonely. He loves visiting with the people in that office as well.

At this moment in time he's doing very well. Come June he will turn 85.

I goofed!! I reacted.

Reaction is what I'm working to avoid. In my last post I "reacted." Reaction is not the way to get things done and I know this. I must try harder.

  1. I'm glad to hear that Bob is doing well. that makes life easier for you too.
Don't beat yourself up for reacting. It is those episodes of reacting that give us the kick in the pants to take measured action. You inspire me.

    1. Voting rights is one of 'my' issues. It's easy to push my button on that one. Have to remember this is a marathon, not a sprint. Still miles to go.

  2. It's good to hear that things are going better for Bob. Now if things would only go better with Trump!

    1. If I were a betting person I'd bet Bob is still around long after Trump is out of office. The Trump WH is fast coming to a full boil.

  3. I knew when I read the title of this post that it was going to be worth a chuckle or two. Stashing inhalers and courtesy visits with his doctor. Too much. I hope you're right about the WH. I'm sure Trudeau had to stifle guffaws as he listened to Trump speak yesterday. What a contrast between the two men.

    1. Life is seldom dull with Bob. He delights in getting something by me. Even after 54 years he sometimes gets by me. He can look me in the eye and lie. I have to double check everything he tells me.

  4. Wonderful news that Bob is doing so well. A bit funny how he worked the system to get the attention he wanted. What a rascal. Hope you get that wheezing under control.

    1. He is definitely a rascal. I've done the pulmonary function study but haven't gotten the results.
