Me Sick

I'm  sick but putting whatever it is on the run with an antibiotic, Prednisone, and an inhaler. Enough of that nonsense.

I'm almost afraid to report Bob is doing well for fear I'll jinx this run of good luck. The results of his barium swallow test showed only the hiatal hernia that we've known about for years. We'll take all the good days that come our way.

Shoreacres had some good website suggestions in her comment. I've now added these to my Twitter feed and to Facebook. I encourage you to check these out, Quillette, Twisted Sifter, Brain Pickings, and JSTOR Daily.

I assume that after all the angst you will be watching election returns on Tuesday. I'm thinking I may stream coverage from my iPad. Turning on the TV in the living room puts Bob into raccoon mode. He simply cannot leave the remote alone, flip, flip, flip. He fingers all the buttons and drives me crazy.

Here's a little trivia:

If elected, Hillary Clinton will be 2nd shortest president at 5'5," James Madison was 5'4."

If elected, Donald Trump will be 2nd tallest president at 6'3," Abraham Lincoln was 6'4."

Michelle Obama is 5'11," Barack Obama is 6'1."

    1. Frankly I was shocked that it happened to me, I very rarely get sick. I'm hitting it with a lot of stuff hoping to 'nip it in the bud,' as somebody used to say.

  2. Linda, you are an inspiration. Because of you, I'm making a mid-year resolution to try out new sources of the news and become more informed. I never would have learned of the alternatives you suggested on my own.

    1. It is so easy to get complacent but I'm a curiosity driven person which keeps me searching.

  3. It seems like everyone is getting that crude early this season. It hangs on and won't go away on it's own, from what I hear. But glad to hear Bob is doing well.

    1. Oh good grief, hadn't thought about this being 'the crud,' but I suppose that's what a diagnosis of 'upper respiratory infection' means.

  4. You need to be well by Tuesday so you can celebrate with the United Women of America!

    1. Absolutely!! Tonight I would fight a circle saw for Hillary! Today I looked at her inaugural gowns from 1992 & 1996.

  6. I like your trivia. I thought Hillary was smaller.

    1. I thought Hillary was taller, perhaps about 5'7" but not so.

  7. Like Red, I thought Hillary was smaller. Her head and neck look very small since she lost so much weight.

    Feel better soon.

    1. I hope the fashion industry will be kind to Hillary. She will never be a Michelle Obama. I looked up her two previous inaugural gowns and they were nice but many of the gowns she wore as First Lady were very unflattering. High fashion is just not her thing.

  8. sorry to hear you are sick. Get well soon! We'll be driving back, but you can vote until 8 pm here, so I'll be stuck hearing about it one way or another.

    1. I hope it will be called soon but there are several Senate and house races I'm very interested in so I'll be watching those.

  9. Think you may have election flu. It is going around. All the abuse our minds are taking is wearing down our resistance. I will be watching a movie on election night so I can get a good night's sleep. If it is good news, it can wait. If it is bad it can wait also.
    Feel better soon.

  10. Great links in the last two posts, thanks! I am so tired of reading the same old news sources over and over again.
