Look What I Found

This is a whole peanut wreath squirrel feeder. Larger birds are invited to participate as well. I'm hoping the crows I've seen will check this out. I love squirrels so I'm most excited about the chance of recruiting a squirrel.

  1. We would be happy to give you some of our squirrels! LD does NOT like them! They ate large pieces of our gazebo screens and covers! They are cute but destructive!! We discourage them every way possible including spraying a mixture fox urine on the tree trunks and fences!

    1. Yes they are destructive. I've heard of using fox urine to discourage them. I can just imagine what they could do to your gazebo. I'm only inviting one.

    1. It was new to me as well. You never know about gadgets until you give them a try.

    1. I was pretty impressed. Now if it works, that's the thing. Wonder how birds and squirrels know when you've put out food? Wonder if the crows will come up that close to the house?

  4. I was going to offer to send our squirrels to you, but someone beat me to it. I spend time each day running outside to chase squirrels off our "squirrel-proof" bird feeders.

    1. I do understand squirrels can be a pest. For that reason I'm only inviting one. In Texas I had squirrel next boxes in the trees. It's so entertaining to watch the babies take their first adventure out into the real world.

  5. I love those peanut feeders! I used to have one but the dog would spend all day barking at the squirrels and big birds it attracts so I had to take it down.

They say it takes 7 to 10 days for birds to find a new feeder so be patience.

    1. Nice to hear a good report, also the tip of 7 to 10 days. I had wondered how long it might be before my visitors came.

  6. Ha ha, love how you are hoping squirrels come in ones. I enjoy watching squirrels at a feeder. They are super smart and very athletic.

    1. Squirrels have lots of enemies. Since they've never destroyed anything of mine I think they're cute. I don't mind feeding them.

  7. I've seen this before but forgot about it. I'll be curious to see what result you get. I'm hesitant to add more groceries to my backyard but I might be ready to try it after you test it out.

  8. I can't use seed feeders. I'm going to see if this will attract anything. I'm also going to try some suet cakes.
