How Old Is Too Old

Have you noticed there's been almost no mention of the candidates ages in the 2016 election cycle?

Ronald Reagan was 69 when he entered the White House. When he left at 77 he was showing early signs of alzheimer's disease.

John McCain was 71 in 2008 when he ran against Barack Obama, who entered the White House at 46.

Let's look at what the ages of the current five candidates' will be when entering the White House:

Donald Trump will be 70.
Ted Cruz will be 46.
John Kasich will be 64.
Hillary Clinton will be 69.
Bernie Sanders will be 75.

Could it be age is no longer relevant?

The last three presidents have served eight years.  Do you think age will be an issue in four years when running for a second term?

  1. Some candidates have been too busy evaluating other physical aspects of their competitors that they haven't gotten around to their ages yet. If the two final candidates are Trump (perish the thought) and Clinton, he won't bring up age; if they're Trump and Sanders, Trump will mention age. If they're any of the other combos, I don't think age will be an issue. Yes, age might be an issue in four years....

  2. LOL! I don't think anyone is thinking clearly to even consider most of the candidates. Trump is going to have a heart attack, Clinton will probably have a stroke, poor old Sanders, well, (shaking my head).
I'm not saying that being old means people aren't great after they reach this wonderful age of 70, I'm saying, factor in the stress of the presidency - not good, not good. Trump is too much of a hot head already, I cannot imagine his blood pressure, but it shows on his face now. Just sayin'

  3. We are living longer but are we a whole lot better during the add on years? Truthfully, I would feel uncomfortable with a president only 2 years younger than I am and facing the stress that turns young men's hair grey and lines their faces. Women live longer so lets give Hillary a chance.

  4. I think it could be an issue for Bernie just because of the stress level and how much it affects presidents. Oh, I just saw that Patti said the same thing.
