For other clothes - I remember a gross saying from when I was young about testing suitability of wearing clothes by throwing them at the nearest wall. I think, if we had to wash our clothes in the nearest stream with a washboard, we'd be wearing them a whole lot more. I think it might be, in part, that it is easier to take them off and dump them in the hamper. LOL. That is if you can get your family to use the hamper!Barbarahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16894294588507668479noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6185056688439833438.post-35305669480662196952016-01-26T08:49:54.894-08:002016-01-26T08:49:54.894-08:00Interesting. Sheets are changed every 10 days or so. Louis Dean strung us up a clothesline and I need to remember to use it for our sheets! We use flannel from October to April and really enjoy them. We have an electric blanket but it only warms the bottom area but that is nice enough. I hope to get us one of those heated throws for next winter!
You have the most interesting posts!! How do you think up such things???Lindahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09623820316056914224noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6185056688439833438.post-67718796006607515612016-01-25T17:21:09.728-08:002016-01-25T17:21:09.728-08:00I can't imagine turning the sheet from head to...I can't imagine turning the sheet from head to toe. If I were going to that much trouble, I would go ahead and throw the sheets in the washing machine. I always dread making the bed after washing the sheets especially if the sheets are hanging on the clothesline. I'll be washing supper dishes and remember I need to bring the sheets in and make the bed...tired as I am! :) Henny Pennyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05958386938311591314noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6185056688439833438.post-68627296860975108612016-01-25T16:02:14.499-08:002016-01-25T16:02:14.499-08:00I change sheets every Tuesday, underwear everyday-...I change sheets every Tuesday, underwear everyday--although I let bras rest for a day and wear them again two or three times before a washing. Exercise bras get washed after each use though. I don't wear much wool anymore but since it generally requires more care than just tossing it in the machine with other laundry, I may be guilty of stretching out a wearing of wool socks or sweaters. I live alone so what the heck? I do try to be presentable when going out in public though.Olgahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00692441479616299920noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6185056688439833438.post-70004084359212447442016-01-25T13:16:07.481-08:002016-01-25T13:16:07.481-08:00Socks, even wool ones I only wear once. Work clothes are one day, something I only wear for a few hours goes back in the closet.
That was interesting about the astronauts. They must have quite a garbage pile. Underwear is a change daily thing for me, but my outer clothing is worn until visibly dirty or I have been sweaty. Continual washing and drying, fades and wears everything out - I can see how much lint is in the trap - it's visible proof. Turning the sheets from head to foot after a week, though? Yuck! I don't want my head resting where my feet (or my husband's) have been! (I'd never thought about fresh laundry at the space station. Interesting.)Jeanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09782394068144501251noreply@blogger.com
